Bunraku - Action Thriller

In the opening the audience see a collection of origami paper animals telling the story of how the world of the film came to be. The bold and vibrant colours used make it seem very serial and help promote the films pop-up story book style. The fact that you can see the people moving the animal puppets in the back morph suits adds more of a theatrical feel and less Hollywood movie magic. The music going over the entire opening sequence is an odd beat, but it fits the strangeness of the visual. They have shown the evolution of life through a swift change in the creatures, in both there size and complexity; the change in environment is shown through a change in lighting the use of different colour tones and the luminosity of the light. to enhance this still they have used some 2D animation with the paper origami in the meteor; when it strikes the creatures die and the world goes dark. This is the end of the theatrical portion and begins a human world ("The dark of man" as said by the narrator).
When the 2D animation begins the narrator talks about how man is no different to the creature who died before them and begins to talk about mans insatiable need to kill and destroy. The 2D animation uses the same method to show the evolution of man as the evolution on the creatures. they show the rise and fall of civilizations. The 2D animation still has the origami style and a rough triangular background.
